Was a cold night in the other hotel, I changed
this morning to Hotel Ali,
it's also cold here,
rain through the morning, now wind and sun,
quite cold.
How do I get in? Into regions, houses, hearts?
It's always a changing between feeling very good and feeling not
quite safe inside myself.
I thought about every country, city, house, every human being
is just
like a tree trunk with lots of holes around.
These holes are for sticks to be plugged in. And every person
is kind of that stick.
So - wherever we go, whomever we meet, we try to stick ourselves
into this trunk,
stay there for a while and then go on again.
But - did we ask to plug in?
Are we welcome?
Do we try to adapt ourselves to the habits, feelings of this "trunk"?.
I am going to meet Abdul Rajim again, the man I was allowed to
travel with
in the bus to Marrakech. He has his parents here.
So - the second time to take a walk.
I am thinking of you.
Pfeffer.

Hello my friends,
I have the wrong shoes, the wrong clothes, because it is cold
and wet.
But - I had the right dinner.
On Djemaa el-Fna I had fish, salad, chips, hot sauce, mint tea,
and I liked it.
Open air food for Dr25, something like 37 ATS.
And at the moment I am thinking about where to go next.
Hopefully I get a room for tomorrow night, so that I can stay
one more day
and meet Abdul Rajim.
Then I think to go down a little bit more South.
Because of shoes.......
Sometimes I think this part of Marrakech is really very touristic,
but when
you see the storytellers on Djemaa el-Fna,
up to 100 Moroccan men are hanging on their lips,
listening to absolutly fascinating stories.
Sorry, but I can't tell you what they are listening to.
So now I go down to the Internet Cafe and take a look into the
virtual world.
I hope, Christmas is not to scary this year.
So - I try to find out more about the nomad rituals.
And - I will think about, if there is a host at the nomadic fire
places.
And - I point out what exactly is nomadic about this journey.
So my friends, prepare yourself for some warm moments with your
friends.
My love to you
Pfeffer.

What can I say, I got the right shoes and the right
clothes - today,
there is a lot of sun outside and I had to find another hotel,
I got one, Hotel Gazelle, quite lousy but really cheap.
And - I still have not decided where to go to from here.
Or - just to stay a few days longer.
So for the last 2 hours I was sitting close to Djemaa el-Fna,
trying to find a close beat from my heart to the rhythm out there.
Everybody's bringing something.
On his shoulders, with a donkey, with horses, a moped, a car.
Snakes are paralyzed by tourists, monkeys holding their chains
(or otherwise).
Storytellers gather crowds of people around them.
Local people of course.
So let me get up on the Terrace to get more sun,
at 15.00 hours I am going to meet Abdul Rajim, and
I will ask him for some advices.
Hope you have a fine time, all my friends,
keep the fire burning, esp. the one in your hearts.
Talk to you later.

I had a fine walk this afternoon with Abdul Rajim,
visiting the Palais de la Bahia.
In the thrilling marketplaces, souks, I bought bananas and of
course dates,
one of the best I ever had.
Some 44 minutes ago I had a tajine with meat, again on Djemaa
el-Fna.
Exciting place, lots of excellent salesmen who do:
"Good evening, good evening, hey, moustache, madame, couscous,
tajine, chicken,
chips, look into my eyes, sit down, please, yes, yes, ..... "
You can eat there for 25 Dr, that's something like 37 ATS.
And you can smell all that stuff, you see the bright lights of
the stalls under this
black sky, you feel the cold of the floor, you hear the salesmen,
the storytellers
in the background and all the jugglers, hustlers, drummers, pipers,
and not to
forget this marvelous traffic, horns en masse, and again it's
"monsieur, couscous ..... "
So what makes a journey a nomad-journey?
1st it is giving it a sense, a philosophical direction, a heart-beat.
2nd is preparing
3rd is travelling, starting from your livingroom
4th is - wherever you come, try to feel the music around you,
try to hear people talking 5th is communicating directly, local
6th is virtual communication
7th will follow
At the end of nomadminute 7 let me thank you, christian, (haas@yoyo.at),
he
Does all my minutes into my homepages so that you all my friends
out there
can follow my thoughts and meals. Thank you, Christian.
So my friends, Christmas is still coming closer, slow down speed,
buy some dates
(so that you can think of me when eating) and keep your curiosity
burning,
good night, the world is waiting for the most of us.

It's a little late to send this minutes.
But - on one hand I have to say: now I am here, now I did arrive
in Morocco.
And - on the other hand, I had some stuff to be organized.
So I decided to start a 3-day-tour tomorrow.
Going up into the High Atlas, which means, that it will be cold.
(Think of my shoes!).
And on Sunday we will reach the desert, do some camel-riding and
sleep in a nomad tent.
I know, that reminds you on some story you are also concerned
to. On the same day.
I will be back on Monday and take off from Marrakech to somewhere
on Tuesday.
Let me give you just a short impression of me, sitting in the
Internet Cafe, reading
my mails and looking at my homepage, just to see, where I am.
Stay tuned, my friends,

(No way to send this minute home, no reception).
Some 8 hours drive, beautiful country, during the day nice weather,
in the evening
wrong shoes.
Pretty cold outside, pretty colder inside.
I have to point out, that a nomadic journey at the most is respecting
and
distancing.
Respecting people and their environments, wherever you go.
Don't think of them being different.
Ask yourself about differences.
And that brings me to distancing.
The farther you go away and the more
that you respect people, the more distance you will get.
Distance from
Distance from yourself.
And that in fact will help you, getting closer to yourself.
Excuse me for stopping here.
Dinner is served.
More tomorrow.
So - this is tomorrow, 24th of dec, there is reception,
so I will quickly send this minute and try to send another one
tomorrow.
We had a wonderful drum-session last night with Berbers.
Merry Christmas, my friends, wherever you are.
Love you,
Pfeffer

Back in Marrakech.
Was a wonderful journey through the country.
But the best was travelling with 7 other people,
nice and great women and men,
from all over the world.
There are so many places to be visited,
there are so many faces to be seen,
there are so many sounds to be heard
and so many words to be said.
Back in Marrakech.
First night room 216, 2nd night room 218, 3rd night room 217.
Time to leave this place.
To many people, to much preparing for the big feast,
the end of Ramadan and the beginning of the new year.
So I'm going to Essaouira. To the coast.
Travelling with Hillary and Michael.
Michael - look at the picture - is friend from the heart
and also a magician ......
Back to my shoes: 2 days ago, stepped into a river, got very wet:
wrong shoes.
Yesterday and today, walked through the Sahara, very sandy: wrong
shoes.
No philosophical thoughts, just very good tuned.
Travelling is much fun and meeting people is quite the same.
Hope, you my friends out there, had a marvelous Christmas,
time to get some sleep, was quite cold, the night in the Sahara
....
Have fun and get your thoughts travelling

The 8th day of the journey.
Was a real rude ride on a bus, 5 hours, quite amazing.
After all that wonderful (!) but cheap hotels I decided to stay
for a
few days on one place.
And it's a fine one. Frank Zappa and Leonard Cohen used to stay
there.
And there should be long beaches and ......
And time to think and time to write.
So - hope you all had fine days with all the people you love,
I am with you.

What a beautiful day.
Hanging around on the beach after a great breakfast,
it is Hillary's birthday, we 3 walked around and had a real great
time.
So - this is the last night in Hotel Riad, I am leaving tomorrow,
back on the streets again, going down south, maybe Tiznit.
Things turn out to be real fine.
I was talking a lot about CityRitual,
thinking about networking in the next couple of months
, looking forward to got to Berlin and Finland,
networking is the buzzword.
(At least for today).
So - the picture shows you a little bit of the place where we
used to
have breakfast.
Thinking a lot of you, my friends at home.
Have a great time, 010101 is coming soon.
Ramadan is over since yesterday, New Year is coming, lots of feasts,
looking forward to see you again.

After 6 hours on the bus I arrived in Tiznit.
Ran into 3 young guys, had mint tea with them, did not shop
anything in a real nomad shop,
fine things, was strong, said no, no problem,
we are all friends ......
Went on the roof right now to get some signals,
now I know my position.
Being back on the street again means being more concentrated on
me.
A lot more thinking.
Reading Rifkin, thinking about Cityritual.
I am very open at the moment, lots of contacts,
fine moments.
Hopefully I can send my minutes also in the next
days,
maybe people are sending a lot of SMSs
. So - let me do it here for the first time:
A happy new year to all of you.
May you all get to know, what you want.

I ran into these 3 guys, Ali, Houcin, Abdullah.
We spent a lot of time together since yesterday evening.
Today we went to some shops, they showed me silver jewelry,
Tiznit is very famous, maybe most famous for silver in Morocco.
In Abdahllahs shop I did a lot of bargaining and at the end
we changed some things. And of course - money.
Very interesting rituals, very respecting behaviors, very much
time.
I am going to see them tonight again.
Tomorrow, at 0530 in the morning, I will take the bus to Tarroudannt.
I will leave this hotel, a very basic cheapy, 40 Drhs a night
(60 ATS).
Time to take a walk again.
It's warm outside, 25°.
I am still thinking of Hillary and Michael, hope they have a fine
time in Essaouira, and Michael is getting better again.
All my thoughts are with you, my friends in Austria.
Hope, that you will get it all together, all you want for the
next year.
Have a nice afternoon.

Finally, at the end of the year 2000, I found myself
in the middle of my heart.
Quite a long way to go.
Quiet.
Fearless.
Respectful.
Was quite a heavy journey, sometimes.
I'd liked to thank everybody, who traveled with me, esp. this
year.
Thank you for your thoughts, for being patient.
Thank you, for being a friend to me.
Stay with me, please.

It's easy, to fall in love with the people of this
country.
And - it's easy too, hanging around.
Little business with a lot of bargaining,
brouchettes, frittes, salades, Berber Whisky (mint tea),
some 35°, very nice.
Very nice.
Lot's of space in my head,
all I have to do is, to get a bus tomorrow,
to come to Agadir.
Flight back at 1510.
Have to be there at 1310.
Something like an hour in Agadir,
some 2 hours to Agadir,
so, which bus to take.
Berber's rule:
If not now, then in 10 minutes.
If not in 10 minutes, than maybe in an hour.
If not in an hour, than maybe in the afternoon.
If not in the afternoon, maybe tomorrow. If not tomorrow, maybe
next week.
If ......
So - which bus shall I take?
This might be the last minute from Morocco.
Hope, you liked it.
See you soon in Europe.
If not soon, maybe later.
If not later, ...........
Waste your energy, the new year has already started.
